Everyone should be pissed off about this. But they just throw in the words “child pornography” and it’s ok. I am totally against abusing children. I am also against government surveillance.

That was a pretty big leap from “Telegram founder’s arrest” to “if it’s a crime to build privacy tools….”
Telegram is not only not a privacy tool, by default it is not private.
Privacy likely has nothing to do with the arrest. More likely something he was doing that he thought was private did.
More likely something he was doing that he thought was private did.
Could be. It’ll be interesting to look into when all the facts are made public.
