I do believe that says “A sword” not “John Brown’s sword”
But still cool.
I had to squint because of the blurriness, but it says it was carried during the raid by one of John Brown’s men during the raid. Wonder if that includes John Brown himself as a possibility.
Not unless whoever wrote the plaque was truly terrible at English. In which case he probably wouldn’t have got the job as chief plaque writer
