Seen somewhere else: it’s really impressive that Tesla designed a “truck” so bad that when one explodes you can’t be sure whether it was a car bomb or just yet another design flaw.
Here’s the original photo before the low-quality noise reduction and oversaturation, in case anyone else is interested.
Edit: Here’s the video https://youtu.be/YnO6RBOs6oA
The sad thing is I thought this wasn’t real.
I’m not entirely sure I accept reality anymore
Not just you. I saw this earlier and was sure it was fake. (Mostly because there were hundreds of the same or similar comments about how lithium batteries catch fire)
No shame. I felt the same way until I saw the video.
They are different photos. The framing is different, the flames are different. Im not saying the posted one isnt altered, but the difference in appearance could just be from different cameras (quality, settings, etc).
You’re right. Someone pointed out in another post that it’s just another frame from the same video, but without editing.
But why do they invest work to make it worse?
They’re very common mistakes.
The photo has some high ISO noise, so it’s expected to use noise reduction. Too much will smooth away all of the texture, resulting in the oil painting-like appearance of the posted photo.
Bumping the contrast and saturation is a common way to make photos more dramatic. They’re probably the most commonly overused and abused adjustments by novice photographers.
It’s just an example of too much of a good thing.
Unfortunately this common mistake is often the basis for a lot of conspiracy theories. I’m glad somebody came in and explained what was going on before some chucklefuck went “WHAT ARE THEY HIDING!?”
The hero we need
Now that you mention it, that photo definitely has a Dark Knight vibe.
I was thinking more Robocop.
I’d buy that for a dollar!
(that guy is 100% the Robocop version of Trump)
The OP’s image looks like one of those “ye olde deep fried memes” that grandpas like to talk about
you mean NUKED MEMES :D

Metal
Were this a painting, I’d accuse the artist of being lazy and not knowing how to paint a car.
My first thought was “this is the timeline where biff got the almanac” Doesn’t even look that similar to the movie(yet?), must be a similar feeling i suppose
Could be worse, it could be the future where President Lisa Simpson appoints her brother Bart as the minister of “keeping it real”. I heard they inherited quite the financial blackhole from President Tr- oh.
Doesn’t even look that similar to the movie(yet?),
Isn’t this kind of what it looked like outside of Biff’s building? I’d say it looks pretty similar.

Did it ever really leave? as far as I can tell the funny numbers went back up but for most real people things have been pretty consistently downhill since 2008.
If you really want to have a migraine, read Hunter Thompson’s “Hell’s Angels.”
There’s a passage where he talks about the economics of being a biker/hippie/artist circa 1970.
An Angel could work six months as a Union stevedore and earn enough to hit the road for two years. A part time waitress could make enough to support herself and her musician boy freind.
Then a guy named Nixon got to work…
Same with Thatcher in the UK.
Post war recovery worked to a degree and had made life better but people screamed about it being a nanny state because people had the ability to explore the meaning of their own life without fear of imminent death and think of all the profit that was being missed out on because we were busy helping people.
And here we are doubling down again.
Reaganomics failed during his administration.
They’ve been running on its incredible success for decades.

We got GTA 6 in real life before consoles
Oh they definitely need a cyber truck in GTA 6. It should be the most fragile car in the game.
Or it randomly just explodes
Constant advertisements about its recall. For the 57th time this year and it’s only January
This was so insane that I thought it was an AI generation
One dead, seven injured according to the BBC.
It’s so weird that they’re unsure whether to call it a terrorist attack:
- Luigi shot one guy = 100% terrorist.
- Someone commits a car bombing outside of a presidential elects business = better find out what color his skin was before making snap judgments.
it is not a terrorist attack because no rich people were hurt, obviously
It’s a bit of a weird terrorist attack though. The whole thing about car bombs is that It’s supposed to be a portable bomb. The idea is you get out before setting it off.
Also what’s the point of blowing up the outside of one of his businesses, it wasn’t like he was in there.
So it doesn’t immediately feel like a terrorist attack.
Could be a form of self-immolation. If so, gotta give points for creativity.
The person who died was inside the vehicle, not that this makes it any better if it was an accident.
how can it be an accident
Dude was transporting fireworks in the car. They caught on fire. For whatever reason. Doors locked automatically. As designed. The guy couldn’t find the hidden release lever. And so he burned to death.
He was also transporting cans of natural gas and other fuels. Who loads their truck to the brim with fireworks and anything that is highly explosive and then “accidentally” detonates it at the entrance of a hotel?
People who drove cybertrucks
Seems about the right IQ level for it.
Someone with bad decision making skills? Wanted to go out into the desert and light shit on fire maybe?
Why the fuck would doors lock automatically upon catching fire? That seems insane
You’re right, but it also doesn’t make it bad.
I don’t agree with people buying cyber trucks but I don’t think they should die for it. WTF
When they park in front of a Trump property I feel free to assume I know what their opinions on the incoming death camps will be.
So long, loser, collect your Darwin on the way out.
Definitely won’t be missed
Wellp! Time for another recall!
Can’t recall vehicles if all have exploded
Oh, the steel on that thing is just fiine! Give it a decent polish, slap some more poorly thought out tech in it, and you can roll out another death trap within a couple of weeks!
It’s poetic, not so sure about renaissance.
Photo of the year
Set the bar so high we can all log off till next year.
Nov. 5, 2024 has been officially identified as the cause of the fire.

Dumpster fire.
(Sad that someone died)
Or was killed by the awful design decision of AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING THE DOORS in the case of an accident. WITHOUT AN EASY TO REACH RELEASE MECHANISM INSIDE.
This type of design should be illegal. Several people have already died because of this idiocy.
Was the person who died a bystander or a Musk fanboy? That’ll affect my level of sympathy for them
Supposedly the person was inside the vehicle. The vehicle was a rental.
It’s being investigated as an attack
The Virgin Deliberate ISIS Terrorism versus the Chad Cybertrucks Just Do That.
This Cybertruck and the F150 from the attack in New Orleans were both rented from Turo. Also the explosion was insanely large. I’m thinking this is likely not a coincidence and the two may even be related.
lmao if it was a terrorist attack, but cybertrucks explode so often nobody noticed.
Imagine if it was planned as a terrorist attack, but the cybertruck just did that on its own.
The polygon count was too low.
CNN is reporting that the truck was carrying a large amount of fireworks, gasoline and camping fuel. These appear to have been intentionally ignited. The truck drove past the site of the explosion an hour before returning. The truck exploded shortly after stopping.
https://edition.cnn.com/2025/01/01/us/cybertruck-fire-trump-hotel-las-vegas/index.html
Is there a source for them being rented from the same place? Seems like the kind of detail that probably wouldn’t be out there at the moment, even if true.
The same app. Which means very little. It’s like trying to connect people because they both used Uber.
It’s like every time there’s a school shooting they try and make a thing of it that they played video games.
I thought they were rented from the same company. Which is a bit like saying that a lot of bank robberies use the same ford truck. Yeah of course they do, because it’s big, reasonably fast, and commonly available.
I really doubt it’s relevant.
CNN mentions Turo - A ride rental service where you can put your personal vehicle up for daily rental.
I haven’t seen it mentioned in relation to this incident though.
https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/01/us/shamsud-din-jabbar-suspect-new-orleans-attack/index.html
If they were used for both vehicles; it’s probably just because it was a convenient way to get a vehicle. They probably have less hurdles than a typical rental service. I haven’t actually used or really looked into that service though, so I may be wrong there.
hmmm…
This is basically your life now for the coming 4 years America!
Nice bird of prey look to the top of the flame
The new dumpster fire.
