So, one of government’s undisputed obligations is the protection of its population from hostile nations. NATO better be willing to step up and proactively protect the member states and their population.

At what point do ‘minor’ transgressions become actionable? Like, if Russia was told by NATO reps that the next time any citizen gets assassinated and it is proven they are responsible, or that a Russian damaged NATO cables or whatever that an immediate response will be enacted. Notice I didn’t say ‘proportional’.

Cable snapped and Russian captain who did it? Tomahawk to an airbase near St. Petersburg. Don’t want to go to war? Cut the shit. Period.

TBF them acknowledging that this has occured is an escalation from pretending like it is business as usual. Which is good. We’ll see if it has the desired effect.

With Trump it is sadly not a good timing to rely on US support in NATO.

Europe alone should probably be able to give Russia more than a dent - although some reports about Russia’s warfare production don’t look that good for us, until we step up our production

Well, then it’s a good thing in more than one way, that those assassination attempts were foiled

Absolutely, yes. And i strongly wishes that, despite the events of the last few years, that we don’t descend into another world wide war.

“Tit for tat” and “Generous tit for tat” strategies would be optimal to minimize conflicts.
Now there must be lots of qualified people evaluating and deciding what is a valid tit for each tat. Of course, i am not qualified for that, most persons wouldn’t be.
