I’m less appalled by Stalin being in hell than by the fact the animators decided to have him play cards with Mussolini.

I can’t say that I’m surprised: The Simpsons has its moments for sure, but ultimately it’s still a product of liberalism.

I am surprised that Benito Mussolini is there, though.

Hell is a strange concept to me in general. What’s stopping the people there from overthrowing Satan if he’s such a miserable tormentor to literally all of them? Maybe hell would have a caste hierarchy that dilutes revolutionary energy. Also, isn’t it supposed to be that God allows it to exist, which means he could stop hell at any time? Seems a bit sus to me.

I am probably more hard on religion because of learning it in the context of colonizer culture.

It’s the hole where god puts the things that don’t love them. Just a miserable pit.

I think of it less like a prison, more like the island of misfit toys. Things aren’t right down there, but everyone is gunna do what they can to make it as tolerable as possible.

Of course I don’t believe in hell in an actual sense, which is unfortunate, because some people definitely deserve to languish for all time

True. You can’t repeatedly beat the shit out of Hitler in heaven. Actually that would be my heaven so hell is heaven for me? 🤔
