The rich were nestled all snug in their beds, While visions of guillotines danced in their heads.

They’re all worried about this. That’s the point of living detached on private islands, yachts, and oil rigs. That’s the point of buying basically private armies and massive security forces. That’s the point of the propaganda machine.

    They’re scared.

They’re a borderless class. Once they plunge a society into chaos they’ll just up and leave to the next country/victim. They don’t care.

So it’s not the rampant misery of the world he helped create and run that is keeping him awake at night, but the fear of the unwashed masses stringing him up for it.

I’d love for this kind of person to spontaneously combust during a bout of explosive diarrhea.

According to Bloomberg, Johann Rupert told the conference to bear in mind that when the poor rise up, the middle classes won’t want to buy luxury goods for fear of exposing their wealth.

What a ghoul. He isn’t even concerned about his own welfare in the uprising. Just that he won’t be able to sell as much luxury goods.
