    Edit: the article mentions what I wrote below.

    I’m guessing this is to avoid accidental installs and thus:

    • minimizing the spread of malware.
    • reducing downloads, which cost money.

      Reducing app downloads make no sense though

      From googles point of view, the more who install, the more users end up buying iap and such?

      That generates money right?

        Not when they accidentally install apps. Then just a useless install and uninstall that helps neither Google nor the user.
