Its funny that a lot of people will promote large-government policies but simultaneously hate their government :]

The government does do good all the time. Its just not a monolith. Its made up of a shit ton of people with different agendas and ideals. So it also does bad.

yeah and out of any organization the government does more stuff for me and does it better. People dissed on the post office but my experience has always been better than with ups and fedex and chicago streets and sans was amazing compared to suburban contracted trash services.

I believe most services should be nationalized. We don’t need to run transportation for profit. A profit motive does not belong anywhere near the infrastructure and maintenance of the internet. And I’m about to turn to anarchy if they keep fucking with public libraries not even in my state.

I guess it depends a lot o the place that you live. In my experience, the lots of “bad” done by our government cancels the bits of “good” they might have done.

Also, we must remember that many of the “good” things governments hvae done throughout history have been only done after the people demanded them and not without fighting against it first. Governments, IMO, serve to their own interests, the ruling class and their economy first; the interests of the people come in second as a means of “crowd management”

I am but a lowly igloo dweller, but I heard that maintaining a shrine for Ronald Reagan was a prerequisite for entry into the republican party. Then, every 4 years they have a convention to pick the person with the best shrine who then runs for president.
