Daniel Ricciardo has been ruled out of the Dutch Grand Prix with a broken hand sustained in a crash during Friday practice, handing Liam Lawson his F1 debut with AlphaTauri in the process.

    Man, what a bummer for him. Hope it doesn’t crash his spirits. That was really a freak accident for one and the yellow flags came too late IMHO.

    On the other hand, I’m really excited to see what Lawson can do and if it will be only for this weekend.

    After a metacarpal fracture of the hand, most of the healing happens between 3 to 4 weeks. It’s normal to have aches and discomfort beyond this. This often happens when you try activities you haven’t done for a while. It’s also normal for the area to be more sensitive for several months after the injury.

      Huge bummer indeed. I hope he recovers quickly, both physically and mentally.

      And I’m just as curious as you what Lawson can do.
