Sadly, our systematic issues can’t be fixed by blaming other countries for our problems, we have the Best Democracy Money Can Buy.

If you have the power/influence/money you can buy any politician, especially those in the duopoly.

In 2020, the Libertarian candidate got 1.18% of the vote and won 0 states.

    The Green candidate got 0.26%.

    Write-Ins collectively got 0.41%.

In 2016, Libertarians got 3.28%, Stein and the Greens got 1.07%, three other insignificant parties got 0.54%, 0.15%, and 0.05%

If you believe in what Jill Stein has to say, vote for Biden. Trump will take everything that is currently wrong and magnify it.

I don’t think you would like the results if their were only two people on the ballot and we were forced to choose one…

I may be in the minority… most likely though.

Pretty much the way it works now, the winner will be the Republican or the Democrat. If you want to change that, voting 3rd party isn’t the way.

Getting ranked choice balloting passed will do that.

Ranked is certainly better, but approval and star are the best. If we’re gonna have election reform, we should shoot for the best.

But otherwise I agree. This problem isn’t getting fixed until we have election reform.

The political system is working as intended, and it will not change even if by some insane miracle she did get elected. I’d love to vote for Jill (again), but there’s just no path to any real governance-based fixes until the Greens build a deeper bench in state and local politics, the house, and congress generally.

“Be the change you want to see happen instead of trying to change everyone else.” - Arleen Lorrance

We should focus our actions, time, and resources on Direct Action, Mutual Aid, and Community Outreach.

Yes, community outreach is really important!

The greens have three mayors. The rest of their elected officials are all committee members and school board types. Our political system is not set up for such a party to have the presidency, by design. Dr. Stein should be running for congress, at most, until there are enough greens in the federal government to start making demands of the Dem party and form a coalition. Why is she committed to tilting at this windmill instead?

“Nothing will change until change occurs,” liberals. We will never break free from the Extreme right wing party / Right of center party system until we actually start aligning with people left of center. The Democrats have proven they will never be this party. The right is awful in every way, but they are effective because they are aligned in their vision for the future. We must align on the left and vote that way.
