8kW/cm is quite the power draw…
Username kinda checks out.
What is it with US presidents?
Yeah, there should be at least one comic of Calvin asking Hobbes to tie him up.
Rails preclude the “last mile delivery” though. A BEV lorry with a pantograph could do both.
It’s not quite a Falcon 9 clone, but it is a kerolox vehicle of a similar size and shape. The engine layout on the booster doesn’t lend itself to propulsive landings, but it seems like it is a could be a stepping stone towards reusability, either with a larger vehicle, or a different engine:
A reusable version of the engine, the YF-100N, is also being developed.
SAST has also revealed plans to develop reusable methane-liquid oxygen launchers. It has conducted a successful vertical takeoff, vertical landing (VTVL) test using a 3.8-meter-diameter methalox test article
“We found aliens! Wait no, it’s actually just us again…”
Yeah, I’m optimistic that we’ll get there eventually. But the sooner we play our cards right as a civilization, the sooner we’ll be able to enjoy the benefits.
Yes, though low tire pressure is more of an issue in cold weather, as explained by the Ideal Gas Law (PV = nRT).
it’ll hurt the whole time you’re dying
Not necessarily. If it’s a slow leak, you can go from fully functioning, to slightly lightheaded, to dead from hypoxia without any pain or even awareness of your situation.
Destin of SmarterEveryDay demonstrated this under controlled circumstances a few years back. (hypoxia demo starts around 4:30)
I don’t think they’ve shared any videos of it navigating uneven terrain yet.
A chilling and vivid, yet strangely beautiful description. Thank you for sharing.

Deployment of 20 @Starlink satellites confirmed
I guess we now know part of what was on this mission…

Falcon 9 launches the @NatReconOfc’s NROL-126 mission and 20 Starlink satellites to orbit, completing our 100th successful launch from pad 4E in California
Either the NRO’s payload is really light, or some of these “Starlink” sats are actually Starshield sats.

This could be good in the long term. To best benefit from this technology, we will likely need to implement some form of universal income.
infernal pressure vessels
I suspect you meant a different word, but it’s honestly better this way.
That looks awesome! Minimalistic, but still very recognizable.
What cutting machine do you have?
