You either have a God who sends child rapists to rape children or you have a God who simply watches it and says, ‘When you’re done, I’m going to punish you’. If I could stop a person from raping a child, I would. That’s the difference between me and your God.

This is a far more effective delivery of the same idea.

The end of my faith was realizing God’s either all powerful but not all good, or all good but not all powerful. It was 10 years ago and after the initial grief period, things have only gotten clearer and better since.

Epicurus’s old questions are yet unanswered. Is he willing to prevent evil, but not able? then is he impotent. Is he able, but not willing? then is he malevolent. Is he both able and willing? whence then is evil?

There’s another option: he’s willing and able, but has a good reason not to. What that reason is though, I haven’t figured out yet.

Seems like the compromise with the faction at Nicaea that didn’t like being told that self castration out of devotion to God is heretical.

Really there needs to be an agreed upon standard of psychological and medical signs indicating psychopathy and sociopathy that can be used to disqualify people from positions of authority, those kinds are usually where abuses of power originate from.

It’s rich of you, as a believer in an invisible sky fairy, to talk about logical leaps. I demand that you worship my flying unicorn of doom instead, lest you go to ULTRA HELL.

In other words: you’re a complete hypocrite. There is no difference between your sky fairy and the unicorn of doom I suggested, but you choose to believe one.

A god is the all powerful creator of everything, with perfect foresight with regard to everything that ever happens, yet at the same time it bears no responsibility for anything that happens?

      That’s quite a miracle.

I dont agree with you and think you’re wrong, but I do like what you wrote and how you wrote it. Respectfully, though…isnt a lack of answered prayers a measurement of standards ? If prayer is consistently the manner of communication with said " Creator " as dictated by the said creator ? Plus I’d like to remind you, “God” has not told you, myself or anyone you or I know, how the universe works.
