Personally I think we are off to a great start.

Yup. I’m just glad Tsunoda isn’t the main character, because we’d end up with three episodes about how his team couldn’t put an engine together that was good enough to hold up until the start of the race. (No, I’m not bitter about AlphaTauri being a shitshow of a team. Why would you ask?)
Right now he’s getting the full Haas/Alpine treatment.
I also saw echoes of Binotto with the tyre management.
Super impressed with this first episode. I wasn’t expecting actual brand names and real racing series to be mentioned, let alone small details like tires being left in the sun. Can’t wait for the next episode.
Exactly my biggest reaction! ‘Holy wow, no almost-brands I’ve heard of!’ Was such a nice shift. But this pilot alone has me the most excited of any I’ve caught for the season so far.
Yeah for sure. I was looking at the Goodyear, Audi, etc. banners and thinking if they actually sponsered this anime lol. Usually they change irl brand names to something like Goodtire, Aubi or something.
