How are people surviving at all right now? Between this and the price of EVERYTHING going up, companies are still raising prices and adding premium features while wage raises are at a standstill. The people who are lucky enough to be in unions are striking and the people who aren’t in unions are getting desperate.
There are a lot of people who don’t have these issues, but the number of them is shrinking. Additionally, as long as people have food and entertainment, they’ll continue to let things go until one of the two gets taken away. The gulf between the rich (talking the top 400 people) and the middle-class and below is so ridiculously huge that your brain can’t handle it. It’s too big. The average person’s life savings is like an ant sitting at the base of Mount Everest when compared to the combined wealth of the richest 400 people.
Can you imagine the size of an ant compared to the size of Mount Everest? Neither can I. I know it’s tiny, but I can’t imagine it accurately. The ant is always much larger than it should be.
Surviving by clinging to a job I don’t like, and taking lots of trips. Just spent 3 weeks in Europe and everything here is so much cheaper, their nice hotels are the price of our cheap ones. It’s crazy.
In any other economy I would have quit to start my own business.

We aren’t.
