G’day all,

We got a pretty quiet community going here, but hey, that’s our CBR style sometimes. I am keen on collecting thoughts on keeping the Daily Discussion Threads going? They don’t seem to be very active and can make the community look quite bare, cluttering up the feed.

Keen for your thoughts

Is it possible to delete posts? I just requested a feature for lemmy-post-bot (which I think is used to post these threads in /c/canberra) to delete empty posts/threads after a day or two. You could always delete old empty threads manually in the meantime if it’s possible (to help with the clutter issue).

Yep, good suggestion. Manual removal works for now, but yes, like you, am keen on seeing auto-remove settings for the bot as a good solution.

It was my request to have them in the first place hoping that they might liven things up. I agree they may give a different impression if no one comments. I think if they can auto archive after x time if they have zero comments then that would be ideal.

I try to limit my time on my phone (which is the only way I just Lemmy) but I do try to say something in these daily chats if I remember (esp considering it was my request!). I think it’s great to have them, but cleaning up the empty ones is a good idea :)

No stress. I think they are a good idea, but yes, an auto-cleanup of empty ones seems to be the way we will go. Just waiting on an update to enable such functionality.
