They look like work/gardening gloves, so it’s conceivable that the owners leave these outside. Cat might just be plundering nearby yards.

Mum had a cat that would carry back pairs of shoes and kids toys along socks, gloves, baby clothes, t-shirts etc.

Sometimes the matching item would turn up the night after.

Yup, my cat steals my socks all the time and pulls them deep under the bed. We don’t let our cat out of the house, so it’s only us (and mostly me) that suffers.

    It’s Slinky Malinki.

But at night he was wicked and fiendish and sly. Through moonlight and shadow he’d prowl and he’d pry. What was he up to? At night, to be brief Slinky Malinki turned into a THIEF!

One of my kid’s fav books. I can recite it by heart.

I love that the black cat is called Esme. I’d say there is a good chance the owner has read the Discworld novels.

So many unnecessarily dead birds in this neighborhood :(. Outdoor cats are an order of magnitude more likely to die prematurely from an accident. Keep your cats inside, it will save their life. They are an invasive species!
