In addition to what kboy said, the average lifespan of a cat allowed outdoors is much shorter than an indoor only cat. Like, a decade shorter. Things like predators, cars, exposure to parasites and diseases.
That makes total sense. My buddy had an outdoor cat about the same age as my indoor cat and that little shit died years ago and my guy is going strong at 16. Also my buddy’s cat used to just massacre rabbits.
Please keep your cats indoors, or on a leash and supervised if outside, and please encourage your neighbours to do the same.

Cats are hell on local small wildlife like mice, rabbits, and squirrels. Outdoor cats will just hunt for fun and kill a ton of critters
