I straight up did not like the first controller. Tried to push my cousin into taking it and he snuck it back in my car because he didn’t want it 😆 That being said, I grabbed a steam deck a while ago and that thing rules. I’d be very excited to check out a V2 controller with everything they’ve learned.

Excited for this. Hopefully they keep the dualstage triggers, they’re great for emulating Gamecube games.

I hope they improve it. The steam controller was the worst controller I have ever used. Hard to hold, loud buttons, just awful UX

It is still the best controller I’ve used despite having come from a console background so dual joystick controllers being my most used controller prior to it. I loved being freed of the reliance on aim assists and weapon/item wheels.

Nothing has come close to replicating the functionality of the dual touchpads which I use for movement, quick gadget swapping, quick 180s/gyro activation.

And I use it to play games like Doom Eternal, Left 4 Dead 2, Spin Rhythm XD, The Finals, etc.

Out of curiosity are you are long time controller user. As pc gamer who hasn’t used a controller extensively they steam controller v1 feels a lot more intuitive to me than the Xbox controllers.
