I was looking at a comment I left earlier today (several hours earlier) and realized I made a typo, and went to edit it. I’m used to Reddit putting a little asterisk next to the comment’s timestamp to indicate that it was edited, but I’m not seeing anything like this on Kbin. Is this something that’s tracked somewhere for users to see, or possibly something that we might see get added in as a feature in the future?
Useful information. I didn’t realize reddit’s version can show you the previous versions of a comment. That’s great if you wonder if someone changed a comment in some fundamental way.
I tend to ninja edit comments all the time, but just to make things clearer and improve my writing. With a system that could show anyone the changes I made, I feel like I’ve covered all bases in terms of ‘editing ethics’. And maybe someone will offer me money to become an editor someday!
On reddit you can’t see the previous version of the comment, only that it’s been edited. I had a typo/slip in my previous comment haha. I meant youtube. youtube+twitter allow you to see previous versions. Reddit only puts a note if it’s edited after a few minutes of being posted (but not immediate edits)
Ah, ok. Still, I agree that a system that shows previous version would be nice for kbin
