Not blaming mods for that since they‘re just trying their best to keep it alive, but Reddit has been lost to any controversial discourse for a long time (it‘s why I signed up here originally).
Like yeah, I‘d like to have a moral argument with someone who thinks political violence is always wrong, but we ain‘t ever going to have it on there in a real way, cause if I don‘t self-censor my side of it, it‘s going to get me banned.

That’s the goal, they don’t want people talking about it in any other way besides official propaganda talking points, ideally bickering along left/right circle jerk.
I think the thing that scared them the most was the left and right in perfect agreement against them. Their greatest fear is the lower classes coming together and finally participating in the class war they’ve been running.
Maybe it’s a different era of Reddit, but they’ve always showed double standards with things like this. Nobody in the site management batted an eyelid over Elliot Rodger’s 137 page incel manifesto, nor did they really give a shit when uncut ISIL execution videos were being openly posted on r/WatchPeopleDie.

Political violence is the ONLY REASONABLE RESPONSE LEFT. Everything else has been tried and blocked.
