I like to call it “computer brain” when someone loses sight of the most fundamental realities and starts treating the world like computer code which can be put together and rewritten however they please. I’ve spent the last several decades attempting to identify and resolve the many ways that I’ve learned to think like this, as someone who started using computers at the age of five. Then I see others, often with important and impactful positions in society, going full steam ahead without any apparent recognition at all for the problem and I worry for humanity’s future.
