A Palestinian national police had been tracking down has been detained in a Brussels hotel. Yesterday the man had shouted that he wanted to die as a martyr in an explosion.
Because Belgium is doing such a good job at dealing with people that have their asylum requests rejected, and not leaving them stranded in Belgium without any legal source of income and lots of free time to hang around extremists. /s
And the guy is now an international hot potato. Where is Belgium going to deport him to? Palestine is a war zone without active airports and Israel is probably not lining up to deal with one more terrorist.
That’s not true, there are already more than 100 dead and probably more than 1000 injured in the West Bank. It’s not as bad as Gaza, but it’s not a safe place.
Besides you can only get to the West Bank through Israel, since it doesn’t have their own airport, and it’s effectively an enclave. Which gets us back to the point that Israel won’t let in a guy willing to blow himself up.
I’m not really familiar with the Belgian asylum process, but that doesn’t really seem like a really good strategy to get an asylum request approved.
