Summary

Julianne Moore criticized the Trump administration after her children’s book, Freckleface Strawberry, was banned in Department of Defense (DOD) schools.

The book, a semi-autobiographical story about self-acceptance, was removed as part of efforts to curb diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

Other banned materials include books on gender, immigration, and transgender issues.

Moore and other celebrities expressed outrage, questioning why the book was deemed controversial. She lamented that children in military families, like her younger self, would no longer have access to it.

MAGA has a hardon for cruelty. They don’t want children who feel different to be self-accepting and they don’t want children to learn to accept others. They want to indoctrinate children to fear hate, and self-loathing. That’s the MAGA way.

Religion is a cycle of abuse that is passed down through generations. It perpetuates itself through authoritarianism and the reinforcement of in groups and out groups. It’s why fascism so often co-opts religious tropes and leverages religious masses to gain and maintain power.

I’d call my publisher and ask for a new dust jacket immediately. I’m thinking fake award of golden fasces with the words, “Proudly Banned by the Trump Administration.”
