You can easily get pretty solid phones with 128 GB for ~$400 (out of pocket price).

    Seems like a massive rip-off.

Really depends on what you are doing with it.

Any of those phones have a better processor than an A18?

So I found 5 phones with processors with higher AnTuTu scores around $600 or less.

Realme GT7 Pro Racing - €400 (Just announced)

        OnePlus Ace 5 Pro - ~€450

        Honor Magic7 - ~€580

        vivo iQOO Neo10 Pro (China) - ~€420

Doubtful, maybe some Chinese edge case products.

The overwhelming majority of users don’t need A18 level of performance in a smartphone.

It’s a mature product that’s been around for more than 20 years. My parents bought me a Nokia 6681 with Symbian S60 V2 in early 2005. I had Gmail, Google Maps and a real browser (albeit many sites were very difficult to use).

In a competitive market a mature product will get commoditized.

For the common user, you are right. I don’t think they will see much of a difference in day to day use.

But mobile gamers might be able to use that power. Very unfortunate for the storage being at 128 GB though.
