Ok, so I’ve nailed yeast down to Instaferm, which is made by a company out of Montreal. The problem is, I can’t really find it locally (Durham Region, Ontario)!

Our Metro says “out of stock”, and all other places are online.

Are there any known retailers of this stuff? It’s frustrating that stores like Sobeys don’t have online ordering so you can at least see what they carry.

I live very close to Foodbasics, Nofrills, RCSS, Freshco, Metro, Sobeys… and of course, American stores like Walmart, which I’m sooooooo over by now. LOL

Costco sells red star active dry yeast in a 1 or 2lb brick.

If you are willing to do Amazon it’s likely the easiest, if you want the specific brand.

Gusta.ca is out in Markham and has it

Red star is what I’ve used for years, but it’s American, so no-go.

I’ve already sourced the Canadian stuff from a local place, so I’ll be going to pick that up on a few days 👍

Nice glad you found it, I zoomed in on the Costco pic, said made in Mexico yesterday, but didn’t do any looking beyond that, happy baking

I didn’t see where my last pack was made, but the company is American.

Even the very accessible Fleischmann’s Yeast is made in Canada, but the company is American.

I’m going 100% Canadian on this one 😁
