I just got back from DC (821 mile drive round trip) to show my support for our veterans.
There were a lot of great speakers with heartfelt messages for us to listen to and absorb. This was my first protest; hopefully not my last.
The organizers (Cliff Cash and Jessica Denson of Fourteenth Now!) did a great job putting this all together.
Thank you too all of our service members, past and present! Also thank you to everyone who showed up to support our service members!
Side note: As I mentioned, I’d never been to a protest before. I’m also a severe introvert who sucks at organizing himself, and I went alone. I almost backed down, especially when my youngest son said he was scared of me getting arrested. But it is for him and my other son that I went, because these things are super important!
You ain’t gonna get arrested protesting in DC unless you start fighting with police or join a riot or something.
Good job taking action instead of just posting about it. Protests aren’t just about free speech, they’re also about building the muscle to take action, and building your network.
supporting a cause in person shouldn’t be underestimated. freedom of assembly is our constitutional right, it is a powerful way to connect with others and sends a message that you won’t just hide in your house while our communities are being attacked by the ultra wealthy.
thank you for having the courage and determination to make the drive and participate by yourself. hope you’re able to convince some friends and family to come with you next time there’s a chance to stand up and exercise your rights.
Great job! Reminds me of myself about 8 yrs ago.
Hope you will be able to make some friends there next time. Honestly we have no easy way out of it any time soon if not ever, the only thing we can hope for is to keep the fire and warm up each other in the dark.
Well done! You should feel proud of yourself.
Maybe don’t vote in a fascist to the highest office in the land, and allow him to destroy the very thing you fought for?
LINDA F. HERSEY, can honestly shut the fuck up about this since it absolutely is right because it was part of their project 2025 agenda and majority of veterans voted for it.
Shut it the fuck up veteran buttercups, you’re DEIA hires and you voted en masse to be fired and to have your VA benefits cut so just enjoy it like the rest of us are forced to enjoy it because of your 70% selfish, racist asses.
