minus-squareCloudless ☼@feddit.uklinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·edit-21 year agoContext matters. The “boba” in this post refers to the bubble tea drink, which originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s, and became popular worldwide eventually. In bubble tea, the tapicoca balls were called 波霸 in Chinese, which is a slang term for “large breasts.” Please let me know how that is misinformation. Or how the Vietnamese word got used in a Taiwanese drink.
