So, my setup is this:

  1. I have a steam deck connected to a Dell hub which is connected to a TV
  2. I have 4 8BitDo Ultimate C wireless controllers connected to the hub

This works fine when I am playing games installed via Steam, but when I am playing games added to steam via EmuDeck my experience is that most games won’t register each controller separately, instead controller 1 will be used for all players.

It used to work, but then it just… didn’t.

Anyone experience the same and figure out a way to fix it?

I don’t know if this applies to your specific issue, but I’ve encountered situations on other hardware where the system recognizes the change of input device, but the emulators themselves do not. Try going into the emulator’s control settings to see if something needs to be configured there.

Thanks - that’s what I though too, but it seems to simply be this issue, at least so far. Maybe EmuDeck can’t determine the controller order when booting up, and so it needs to be manually set for each session?

Either way, it works - at least for now!
