1. There should be a maximum cap of 500k users (maybe less) on all instances because:

    • The whole point of this website is decentralization. No single instance should become too big, and currently, Lemmy has more than 1500 users.
    • By limiting the number of users on each instance, it helps distribute the load and prevents overwhelming a single server. Additionally, it can also help reduce the cost associated with hosting a large number of users on a single server.
  2. We should get rid of the downvote and karma system because:

    • Downvotes discourage unpopular opinions.
    • and some people care about imagery internet point so they post low quality content.
    1. How about user level instance blocking rather than admin level instance blocking?

    There isn’t a Karma system per se, but summed point totals for your comments and posts are tracked by the ActivityPub back end out of necessity for how the protocol works (as far as I understand it).

    Most Lemmy instances hide this value, but some apps accesses and shows it (such as Voyager). Kbin also displays it.
