Aerosmith perform their first single, “Dream On” on American Bandstand. Guitarist Joe Perry would later say that he didn’t particularly like the song, but knew the band needed to record a ballad if they wanted to get radio play.

Great song. Only went to US#59 in 1973 (except in Boston), but the 1976 release made US#6. 2018: Grammy Hall of Fame. Tyler wrote the lyrics when he was 14. Feels a lot like the mid-60s.
