It’s not pedantry. It’s literally one of the two images you put in this meme.
The whole point of snake oil salesman was that what they were selling was useless bullshit. Snake oil isn’t a thing, so comparing it to actual literal oil is silly.
It is absolutely not one of their biggest positions, not even close. It’s only 5% of their total investment. These claims are really easy to fact check and prove false

No such thing as a billionaire who isn’t destructive to society. Warren Buffet is less crass, but no less destructive to society than Elon, Mark, Sam, etc. He just attempts to present better, a Mitch McConnell to their Donald Trump.
Also he does invest heavily in oil, not that that really matters. Billionaires shouldn’t exist to warp society to their power/capital’s will.
In fact, one of Berkshire’s top 20 holdings is Chevron, among the worst of the worst. 19.4 billion in filthy, unaccountable to society chevron oil holdings.
Everyone here agrees ideologically. It’s simply that you chose an investor of reliable companies, which is pretty far removed from selling snake oil, because it’s a scam. They’re both bad for society, just in different ways, and it’s different enough to distract from the message of the meme. I’m pretty sure most of us would argue that billionaires are worse than snake oil salesmen due to their wide reaching impact, but regardless, straightforward messaging is necessary to avoid things like this. Pedantry or not, most people would probably have the same reaction because it’s inconsistent. They’re both profit obsessed bad people, but so is a dirty car salesman or the mafia.
Why you gotta photoshop Warren Buffet in front of some oil?
He invests in boring slow predictable companies, and not the oil industry.
You should have picked some Web3 joker like SBF or the OpenAI guy.
Also oil, unlike snake oil, is extremely useful and also real.
This meme sucks. Like just write “BAD” on an oil barrel and it’s a better meme.
As long it’s apparently time to play the pedant game, I’m sure you can extract some kind of oil from dead snakes.

WTF are you talking about? Berkshire Hathaway literally owns 25% of Occidental Petroleum. It’s one of their biggest positions.

Your own link shows his investments in chevron and OXY to be over 10% and his 5th and 6th largest positions respectively.
And Berkshire Hathaway is the single largest shareholder of OXY at 25% according to https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/OXY/holders
So to say “He invests in boring slow predictable companies, and not the oil industry.” is false

Also I didn’t photoshop him in front of those barrels, others just also recognize the con and that photoshop already existed.

You are correct chevron is in the top 20, but it’s still only 6% of his total investments…
So he invests billions in oil, that was never the point, and woosh.
Yaaawn
