I may or may not be a little bit late for the EU stitchers but here it is!
Past week has been a little hectic and progress was slower than usual. I started learning crochet so that slowed me down too but I managed to finish another page from the Greenhouse of Oddities SAL!
I also did some work on the other project that I sadly cannot show now due to the future recipient being right next to me 😅… But it definitely looks like what it’s supposed to now.
Oh gosh, this is super intimidating because I’m nowhere near as talented as a lot of people I’ve seen on here. I’ve only been embroidering for maybe a month, month and a half. I’m working on another piece at the same time, so this is either my 4th or 5th project, depending how you count it, and the 1st that isn’t from a kit. I don’t know why I picked a pattern that’s almost entirely satin stitch when I’m so bad at it, but here we are. I’m also not sure that I like using this stick n stitch stuff - it makes it a lot harder to get the needle exactly where I want it and it (clearly) makes the fabric prone to wrinkling, but I guess I’ll see how it turns out. Anyway, my many insecurities aside, I’m having a great time with it, and it’s good practice, so it’s worth doing I think.
The pattern is rearranged from this one to make it fit in a 5"x7" frame.
This looks amazing 😍! Glad I’m not the only one who got in an autumn mood as soon as it cooled down a bit.
Thank you! I see so many flaws, but I’m trying to remember that it’s ok not to be amazing at something immediately.
And I love summer, but fall colors are my favorites. I bought some beautiful dark brown cotton and all the fall-colored floss the other day. Don’t even have a plan for them yet, I just needed to have them.
I love everything Halloween and fall. And your stitching looks great!! How do you get the stitching interface out when you are done?
It dissolves in water. I tested it on a smaller piece and it worked but it did kind of wrinkle some of my satin stitching and leave the fabric a little stiff, so it’s not my favorite. But easier than tracing more detailed designs for sure.
