Give them the same agreements people made about Trump in 2016. He’s an outsider. He’ll run it like a business. Give him a chance.

This guy’s Wikipedia page shows that in his entire life, his greatest achievement is beating up 3 people.

His entire political career can be summed up as Jafar from Aladdin; he has a fetish for hurting people, but has evidently never done anything ever to actually ‘help’ anyone in his electorate.

If I ever became noteworthy enough to have a Wikipedia page, I would be downright ashamed to have his. How the fuck is this person an elected representative?

Being normal and having human empathy and compassion is the opposite of being a Republican. Who knew?

Also, Democrats suck as well. They’re beholden to the billionaire class, but don’t seem to actively want to cause harm to the rest of us.

There was that study that shows the more right leaning someone is, the less empathy they have for people, animals and things outside of their immediate few circles (friends of friends kind of thing).

Democrats are essentially just republicans as well but with a bit of pink/green washing/performative action going on so.

They can be summed up as:
Repub: I don’t care unless it affects me and mine then I’ll bleat asking why no-one is doing anything about it.
Dems: I’ll pretend to care but won’t actually do anything to tackle the underlying causes but will nod caringly with a bit of a sad face

Mamdani has a pretty easy job in that these people have painted him to be the personification of Satan. He doesn’t need to do much to prove them wrong. If he keeps the city running and it doesn’t fall into the ocean, he’s already a roaring success by Republican standards.

He doesn’t need to do much to prove them wrong.

Nothing he can do will prove anything. Big Tech and Finance owned media will just lie over and over again. They’ll never stop. New York’s actual socio-economic condition won’t be reported on, except in the most polarized “everything is horrible, please liberate our people from the tyrannical Mamdani regime” light.

You will be mentally tortured for watching TV or using the Internet until he is removed from office.

Sensible people don’t watch corporate media. We know what they’ll say about Mamdani because they’ve been useless for at least a decade and already slander NYC as much as they can.

You’ll be surprised. My observation as someone grew up in a communist country is that Americans who use “communism” as a threat to the world actually really love the PRC and will go out of their way praising the PRC.

Americans who use “communism” as a threat to the world actually really love the PRC

A large wealthy heavily urbanized and industrial country with high quality of life, a highly educated population, low instances of poverty and crime, and virtually no homelessness as a direct consequence of government policy.

It’s everything Americans say they want when they talk about the American Dream.

What Americans couldn’t handle was seeing all the non-white people in positions of wealth and power.

Native peoples setting domestic policy in a rich and powerful nation? An absolute nightmare for the American elite class.

Currently in the PRC, they would probably hate the idea that people they think are below them can live in an apartment for like 300 USD, eat out every day, and be seen enjoying themselves and dancing/gambling in the evenings.

There’s a very factual reason for why people would “go native” and never want to come back, many but not all Native American tribes and societies were very egalitarian

What they are worried about is that it works in new York. If it works there then they are gonna have to come up with a whole lot of new lies to convince their victims/constituents that it can’t work in their home state.

They’ll just lie about it working in NY and say it’s not.

Say it’s not, even in the face of irrefutable proof, and their brain dead supporters will eat it up and parrot it.

Just like how they just lie about how America is apparently great again now. Everything has been amazing and perfect since January, and there’s nothing he could be doing better. Food prices are all down, gas prices are super low now. We’re all winning. Believe what you hear, not what you see.

Yeah, no. They aren’t worried at all. They’re just towing the line and trashing the other party as per their sides usual antics. Whether NY succeeds or fails, Republican constituents are simply too fucking dumb and loyal and will swallow whatever bullshit lie their party tells them. Worrying about what lie to make up is the least of the Right’s worries.

Oklahoma here. The last bright spot we had was late 2000s with Brad Henry. A Democrat mind you. After Brad? Republican majority rule for years and years. What happened to the state? Oklahoma is a perfect example of Republican leadership and we are seeing it on the national stage now. Sad.

i think it was kentucky , the only reason it had a dem govorner is because a fully controlled R state wouldve ruined the state economically. because the last R gov did, they wouldve never allowed a D gov to run in a campaign if it wasnt for thier previous R actions.

As a person who knows little about Oklahoma from the States, I feel since the dust bowl and the native americans being “sent” there, it has been one of the least funded per capital states from the federal side of things. I can’t remember many projects at all that have started and weren’t sucked up by bordering states or someone like Texas simply because “we know who texas is, and they have people” or some shit. Oklahoma I’m sure could be great, we just need people to care about the people there

A senator that doesn’t know the difference between a communist and a democratic socialist clearly has no place in our government.
