Republican Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) tore into his GOP colleagues during a Thursday appearance on Newsmax, criticizing their approach to government funding and saying his colleagues in the party ha…
You know, that makes a pithy joke, but the reality is that there are still plenty of Republicans under retirement age. And they’re some of the most venomous, hate filled, arrogant ones of the lot.
Trying to turn it into some kind of magic generation war is beyond stupidity. Neither the gop, or the far right are just going to disappear in ten years when the numbers of the post ww2 generation are dwindling towards zero.
Yeah, older voters turn out more, but they do so for both parties (if not equally). By the time the hippie generation is dying out totally, you’ll have the wave of younger Republicans reaching the age when they’re willing to show up too.
This is what happens when echo chambers exist. Go to a fucking Republican rally, watch the ones that are organizing, active and truly engaged. It isn’t the older generations, they just contribute volume, not direction and energy.
You know, you’re right. I kinda forget about the younger ones and you’re also right they’re really hate filled too. It’ll never end I guess, but I like to cling onto the hope it’s just old people
Completely off topic, but you reminded me of a joke:
While Thor is away, Loki has an orgy in Asgard. The next morning, Thor returns. As he enters, one of the women sits up and looks at him. In a thundering voice he says, “I AM THOR!”
She replies, “You’re Thore? I’m tho Thore I can hardly pith!”
Fun fact, my local voting station is in the lobby of a retirement home.
So I have to get out of bed, get dressed, get into a vehicle of some sort, and drive to vote, while Gertrude, who can’t even remember what year it is, can just drive her rascal scooter to the elevator and be voting in the lobby in 30 seconds.
I’m sure they can make something up to get their votes out of the dialysis clinics and retirement homes
