Yeah, I do. I mean, it’s not like there would be any actual way to experience the stuff that I do in ERPs, so I consider them a pretty great thing. And as a result, I think I’ve gotten reasonably good at them.

Generally though I do like to combine them with DnD games (when it’s an all-furry group that are all into it, so reasonably rare to have more than one group at a time), specifically because it’s more fun when you get to bang a character that you’ve actually gotten to know over the course of an adventure

I’ve run erotic tabletop RPGs, which technically counts; erotic roleplaying was involved. But I don’t ERP much. I don’t consider it wasted time more than any other social activity performed mainly for fun.

I’ve done it a bit since I was 18, I do it seldomly now though. It can be really fun when you find the right partners to do it with. When you do, it really helps further set the mood of the erp and makes it very intimate. And when the both of you cum, IRP and IRL it feels great! It becomes a very memorable session you never forget.

I’ve had some RP’ers like that, they made it fun, exciting and it felt like you were with them in a very fun environment and worked up to the yiff and made the yiff and the entire session special. Something worth logging and looking over again because it becomes a fond memory.

But I have also had most RP’ers that are extremely over excited because it is their first time erping and well, they don’t think about setting up the environment, detailing out the description of their fursona for the erp, or detailing their actions. They want to get into the yiffing immediately and are completely undescriptive in what they do.

I like to be descriptive, so I might say, “I push you back onto the bed with a smile on my face, crawling atop you and straddling your waist, I proceed to wrap my arms around your neck and stare deeply into your lovely gray eyes, intimately, I lean down, muzzle to muzzle and proceed to kiss you. Pushing my tongue into your mouth to play with yours.”

Where as they will go “Let’s you and says nothing, letting you feel my member against your ass, then I push it into your ass.”

Which is just boring, it isn’t intimate or fun. So you just go through the motions till the rp is over. Which felt like the biggest waste of time and kills the mood for you.

Part of the reason I don’t do it as much anymore.

Many years ago I managed to find a fox into mostly the same things as I am, and we’ve been “playing” on and off in text for years. It’s quite fun and we have a Discord server set up for just the two of us. Unfortunately Discord made some changes a month or so ago which kinda knocked me off kilter and we’ve not had a chance to do much recently (which sucks, as I think it might have been a bit of stress relief for me).

Other than him, I don’t really play with strangers much because social anxiety and people are scary. Although I think I do have a bit of a humiliation streak and like when people leave flirty and filthy comments on my posts… I guess explains why I started horny furry chat. :P

Of all the things I haven’t had time for in far too long, I miss ERP the most.

However, I don’t know if ERP is really even the right term for me, because I’m basically never roleplaying a character that’s distinct from me. The collaboratively created setting and actions can be far more real to me than actual reality.

My species dysphoria runs so strong that even when I’m having sex in real life, if I want to get off I have to focus on an imagined version of events where I’m in a more true form (feral). This is not from a disinterest in real-life sex, anything but! (It should say a lot that I never put PrEP on pause even during the height of the pandemic.) Rather, my point is that in a way, sex is kinda always ERP, at least to me inside my head.

As for where: I miss the days before F-List went off the rails in a bizarrely anti-privacy way by permitting FFA to exist instead of banning it for enabling creepy/abusive record-keeping of otherwise ephemeral LFRP postings. I haven’t felt safe on that platform since that became a thing.

I also dearly miss the days when just chatting with people would rather often naturally segue into ERP. (Am I crazy for blaming the decline of that on smartphones?)
