Currently doing Dry January as I usually do after New Year’s. Maybe I’ll do it for longer now, maybe not.

I also want to train for a marathon this year. Not sure which, but it would be nice to see if I could do it. The first test will be a ten miles in april and I’ll see where it goes.

Maybe I’ll do a physical exam somewhere soon to see what’s going on in my body. I’m not having any problems but I’m curious if things will come up.

What about you?

GL on the marathon comrade… how are you training for it?

My goals are to maintain my regular schedule of 4 days a week, and try to do a lot more sprint interval training (SIT).

I am currently doing research on training programs. You should be able to train for a marathon in around 20 weeks and since most marathons are somewhere in september-october I should have time to see what I will do.

What is sprint interval training like? I used to be able to sprint very fast but I kind of lost it in recent years. I would love to work on it again.

Nice, u got plenty of time then.

Sprint interval training is where instead of running for 30+ mins at like 60% , you go at max for like 15-20s, then do walk cool-down, for 2-4m. There’s some evidence that it burns more fat in less time spent overall. I look like someone running from the cops when I do it tho lol.

Even if you’re training for a marathon, it’s supposed to be good for you (in conjunction with long distance running of course).

Some plans and more resources on it:
