From Honduras to California, the dreams of the rich are reshaping urban spaces into exclusive private domains. The future of our cities must not be ceded to elites striving to construct walled utopias.
I do think collapsniks should do something similar, building / moving to a small town or village that is designed or can be reshaped to be a sustainable community. And cheap living environment. But it should be mostly apolitical except for a solid democratic socialist infrastructure, practical governance with a focus on sustainable food, water and energy supplies and workshops to repair and maintain everything. I know there are some projects for that, but an alliance with a few rich people to build and finance something like this could be useful - as long as it’s community owned (e.g. silent partner / loan or something)
