Why aren’t they allowed to choose the candidate they prefer?

I’m going to vote 3rd party in the 2024 general election. I’m allowed to vote for any candidate I prefer yes?

You sure are. As for me, I’m firmly outside the “both sides are just as bad” camp.

I think people who think “both sides are just as bad” are pretty much fine with another Trump presidency and everything that comes along with that. What do you think about another Trump presidency?

I think people who voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 primaries would rather lose to Trump than compromise with leftists.

I think you’re ignoring all the actual overtures to the progressive wing of the party Biden’s administration has made, and his actual legislative accomplishments, which are genuinely more progressive than any administration since Lyndon Johnson. I think dismissing him because you don’t get 100% of what you want is not productive in a democratic system that requires compromise and consensus

“overtures”? There’s a wide chasm between overtures and 100% of what I wanted. And you’re ignoring that this argument can be turned back the other way. Moderates would have gotten almost everything they wanted with a candidate like Warren, Bernie, Pete or some of the other candidates.

You are illustrating the complete lack of compromise by moderates while lecturing me for being unsatisfied with “overtures”.
