Haha I totally get that. It’s fine really, you need to ingest some part of all mushrooms that I know of, at least here where I am, to actually get poisoned. Still, it’s probably a good idea to be somewhat aware of what you do with your hands afterwards. But that’s just general good advice when touching stuff you don’t know about I guess ;)
I know that the mycology subs on reddit always allowed slimemolds even though there was a slimemold sub too. I just like people to know the proper classification of what they are looking at.

Slime molds aren’t mushrooms, they are actually single-celled amoeba. Seriously, just ask Frank.
