I’m wondering if anyone here has managed to purchase quality prints of any of the matte paintings featured in star trek? I’ve done a bit of searching online without much luck. I’m finally living in a place where I can hang things on the wall and thought it would be nice to have some framed matte paintings of Bajor, Cardassia and maybe a couple of other worlds. Any help appreciated thanks.
I remember seeing a few in an auction a while back. Two things I recall:
- Very few of them are full rectangular pieces; they have cutouts for filming which detract from them being pieces to hang (though that’s a matter of preference)
- Holy hell they were expensive
Yeah okay, the auctions for originals was all I could come up with when I went searching. Seems a shame if prints weren’t made. I wish star trek was better with that sort of thing, can’t seem to go shopping anywhere without tripping over star wars merchandise.
I want to know too! Ive always wanted an “Ode to spot” print that looked exactly like the one from TNG or a nice painting of the Enterprise-D.
