Cloth sims render in like a minute of you set them up right. Fluid sims can take days
The issue is not the time it takes, it was spending forever trying to make it stop clipping through stuff. The collision is turned on. Why would it still be clipping? It’s not supposed to do that!
Gotta add thickness and make sure your scales all line up. Getting the collision settings right can be a pain
It’s a lot of math. And the math is not 100% precise (numerical methods are used) and accuracy depends on how many time passes between simulation frames. It would take too much time to simulate each millisecond, and even then you could craft the conditions just right to make something clip.
It is, however, harder to clip through something thick.
