I worked full time through college, shared an apartment with three other people, and ended up 50k to get a degree in a field that I can no longer work in (my state is currently covering up the murder of a transgender child, and as a fat hairy bearded man, I am legally required to piss in a stall next to teenage girls).
His advice works if you’re an upper middle class person with a supportive family. You can’t budget if you are making 12k a year.
