Remember when he was ‘America’s mayor’? Yeah…he was always shit but for the most part people liked him. All he had to do was…nothing. Literally do nothing to go down in history as an ok guy.
He hoped to convert name recognition from 9/11 into success in his 2008 presidential run. He didn’t make it and overspent his budget, ran up debt.
He chose not to run for New York state governor in 2010, when he apparently had a decent shot.
In the 2016 election, he was tied up with Trump and from then on kinda boned himself.
It sounds like a good alternate timeline for him would have been running for governor, maybe not running for president, and definitely staying away from Trump.
