I wonder why the USA is concerned about Uyghur Muslims in China but didn’t care about Muslims when it was bombing Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Somalia, or Yemen?

I wonder why the USA is allies with Saudi Arabia but acts like Russia is too right wing to be friends with?

I wonder why the USA won’t lift its embargo on Cuba or DPRK but sheds tears over the food insecurity of Europe after Russia invaded Ukraine?

Could it be that America is simply lying when it pretends to care about human rights on the world stage?

It is disappointing to see liberals and Right-wingers posting critiques of hexbear/Lemmygrad on lemmy.ml, I joined it because I wanted to be in a Leftist instance with Leftists. It seems like we have too many users on the instance as it is, I don’t know why they aren’t brutally purged. (they’ll love that being said here)

As I said there, I get it if critiques are coming from other Leftists, not that I want infighting or sectarianism, but I get allowing those discussions/arguments. But I don’t see why reactionaries should be allowed to attack Leftist instances or call for them to be defederated from within another Leftist instance.

Yeah it’s especially sad because that’s the original lemmy instance afaik and it’s administered at least partially by MLs. They aren’t as strict about moderating along political lines like lemmygrad or hexbear though so it’s become very lib over the years. I don’t think it’ll ever be as bad as lemmy world on account of its communist admins, but it’s definitely getting there.
