In a lawsuit, Lauren Pisciotta alleges the star sent her lewd texts and performed sex acts while on the phone with her, according to US media.

She claims she was fired in 2022, but that a $3 million (£2.4 million) severance package was never paid.

The BBC has contacted West’s lawyer for a response to her allegations, but has yet to receive a reply.

The lawsuit was first reported in the US by TMZ, and later confirmed by Rolling Stone, The Wrap and US Weekly, which says court papers were filed on Monday in the US.

The only thing that I can appreciate about Trump is that growing up, I could not fathom how people were swayed into supporting that regime. I thought there’s no way that type of propaganda can work on that many people. Well unfortunately I can now.

You still can’t fathom it. Trump is a completely different phenomenon.

If something like Hitler in a similar socio-political situation happens, you will support it.

I don’t think so. People communicate more freely than ever, and have access to history more than they ever have. There isn’t a problem that will come up that will suddenly make me want to assist in genocide.

People communicate more freely than ever,

What made you think so? My impression is that they communicate more freely in Jules Verne’s books than now. That’s about the Web and not even my environment.

and have access to history more than they ever have.

And the fact that it doesn’t help should hint you.

There isn’t a problem that will come up that will suddenly make me want to assist in genocide.

She claims she was fired in 2022, but that a $3 million (£2.4 million) severance package was never paid.

West subsequently hired Pisciotta as his personal assistant, with an annual salary of $1 million (£780,000), on the condition that she was available “24-7”. She says she agreed to the terms.

According to her lawsuit, West was initially comfortable with her continuing her OnlyFans business. However, in 2022, he allegedly stated that he wanted Pisciotta to be “God like” and asked her to delete her account in exchange for a further $1 million.

After she closed the account, she claims she was bombarded with explicit text messages from West, including pornographic videos.

This is fucking crazy. He wants to be her white knight and save her from the perils of sex work and thinks he can do this with money and sexting.

Always surprising to me to hear about sexual harassment and assault complaints about rich folks. Like bruh, you’re rich, you can absolutely pay for very high (or very low, I’m not judging) class sex workers who will happily do all the weird stuff you want. Hell you could even be the person in those hypothetical questions and see if the dude whos all, “yea id never slob a knob, not even for a million bucks” is legit or not. No need for psyop powerplay nonsense or powerharassing assistants, the hell.

Well, this kind of things are rarely purely about the sex. It’s not an hedonist desire for pleasure, but about the taboo exertion of absolute power and ownership over a person that is unwilling, or is illegal for them, to submit. Just like how some rapists aren’t doing it for the orgasm, but for the violence of subduing and dominating a person. Now, a healthy person would be satisfied with a fantasy, some would venture for a consensual role play. Psychopaths with unlimited power and money know they can access and usually get away with the real event.

I think for those people it’s usually the excitement of doing something that’s frowned upon in the sexual context. It’s the same idea as in incest porn. People don’t like that because the idea of incest is great, but because of the excitement about it’s illegality and maybe even it’s exclusivity.

Don’t look up all the problematic stuff that artists have done. It’s never ending. That’s because we don’t select artists because they’re good people, we select them because they make good art.

Imo there is an enormous difference between personal moral failings, hell even personal acts of evil, and endorsing a hateful and toxic ideology.

I don’t expect my artists to be paragons of personal virtue, but I absolutely am not okay supporting artists who are actively spreading hate.

It matters insofar as there aren’t any normal, well adjusted people that are Kanye stans anymore. I was a top 0.1% Kanye listener - one time my friend even had a Kanye birthday cake made for me. Completely dropped his music after the white lives matter shit. For those that casually enjoy a song or two, his antics just don’t occupy that much of their headspace.

Hey thanks, its been quite a journey for me in terms of how I think about all sorts of things. It’s a shame that his influence is so intertwined with all things hip-hop for me that I can’t really enjoy the genre as much anymore, when I truly consider it to be one of the most emotive and compelling art forms in modern music. But the substitute outlets I found for my fanaticism, like king gizz, or just touching grass, don’t leave me feeling internally conflicted about whether my engagement is morally justified, which feels nice.

It is pretty disgusting that Apple still chose to put MBDTF in their top 100 albums though. It’s not even great as far as KW albums go; it’s like a self-caricature of one. For them to choose it over something like College Dropout comes off as fellatio on someone that doesn’t deserve his spot on the list

Do you? I’m not a huge hip hop fan, but there are plenty of artists who haven’t done anything atrocious as far as we know.

If you have an ethical problem listening to a musician like Kanye, I guarantee you there are plenty of other artists out there you probably have never even heard of with music you’ll like just as much if you go out and look for them.
