In this bed we have Russian cukes on the right, and some taller tomatoes on the left, there is snap peas in the smaller pots.
In between the tomatoes there is kale, and there is touchan and ice radishes scatter planted in the entire bed. It’s covered with straw to keep moisture in due to local watering restrictions from a main break.
And some marigolds
Just some mulch on top.
I’m probably a little extra nervous about straw/hay, I did work for a plant that compressed and shipped hay across seas. They were very adamant about the proper care around the hah as the bails love to spontaneously combust.
We were there rebuilding a burnt down storage barn.
I know loose it’s not an issue, but damn hay, you crazy with microbial action.
