‘THE FANTASTIC FOUR’ take place during the 60s in an alternate universe, confirms Kevin Feige.

Kevin Feige says he’s most excited for ‘THE FANTASTIC FOUR’ and the upcoming ‘AVENGERS’ films out of all of the upcoming MCU projects.

Kevin Feige has seemingly confirmed that ‘THE FANTASTIC FOUR’ will take place in an alternate universe: “There was a cityscape in the corner [of the Johnny Storm poster], and there were a lot of smart people who noticed that cityscape didn’t look exactly like [our] New York … those are smart observations I will say.”

Kevin Feige shares that ‘THE FANTASTIC FOUR’ will start filming on July 29, right after San Diego Comic Con.

He also talked about Wonder Man.

Brad Winderbaum will be on ‘THE OFFICIAL MARVEL PODCAST’ next week to talk about the upcoming Marvel Television slate.

This is what I wanted from this. It’s the same device that worked for Captain America. You give them a standalone period piece and then at the end they fall through time and do a big team up movie.

I feel like the fantastic 4 has had more reboots that were consistent disappointments than any other IP. Are we still on super hero movie fatigue,

I think we’re on movie fatigue and bad movie fatigue. All kinds of movies are struggling right now and Marvel has been 50/50 on their movie quality since Endgame. Mixed with nothing overall enticing people to theaters, it’s been a bad mix.

Xmen, Fantastic 4, and Blade are expected to be the thing that gets people back into the MCU though. Hell, Deadpool and Wolverine is the only MCU movie in theaters this year.

You can strike out Blade. Just lost another director and is firmly stuck in development hell. Rumour has it Mahershala Ali has also rejected a script that had him be a side character in his own movie, as a mentor for a bunch of teenage vampire hunters.

Thank God. That sounds dumb as hell.

But also, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Blade appear in a movie to entice people into future projects.

The unreleased one has an unironic charm in it. I’m not sure it would have been viable in theaters but i liked it. But all the movies that made it to theaters were just very blah

I think the latest one is at least fascinating for how bad it is.

It’s a super hero movie that forgot it’s supposed to be super hero movie. It’s not until the last 5 minutes it makes the grand realization it’s actually supposed to be a super hero movie, so it rushes through the super hero part as fast as possible just to get that done.

Sounds interesting. The FF are characters that I really like in concept, but if you ask me my favorite stories I can’t think of one’s outside my head. We’ll see what they do with them.

I’d love to see the trial of Reed Richards. Like, imagine a universe where Reed has ultimate nullifier, Doom has the surf board, and Galactuis is threatening to devour Earth. So Reed uses the threat against Galactus to depower Doom and protect Earth, but then Galactus goes on to devour many more worlds, like Titan, Xandar, and Skrullos, and Reed has to stand trial before Arishem, Ego, and other Celestials. His lawyer is Thanos, who negotiates banishment for the FF and Doom from this universe to one where an incursion is looming and threatening the entire Multiverse, in the hopes that the Reed Family and Doom can figure out how to prevent it.

Really didn’t expect to see another avengers title so soon. Feel like this multiverse situation should have led to Battleworld.

I didn’t expect a new Avengers movie either. I wonder who will be the protagonists though, and I hope they’ll put an end to that multiverse BS too.

Are they changing the gender of the Silver Surfer? I don’t like the concept but I hope I’m proved wrong.

I would have preferred they’d use an original female character and write it properly rather than switching the gender. Marvel has done some great things with then unknown characters or not too popular characters such as the Guardians of the Galaxy, just because they have proper casting and proper script.

It’s not just a gender swap, it’s the wife of Norrin Radd. Ideally this would be an excuse to have an experienced Silver Surfer now, and do an actual Norrin Radd introduction in the main universe later.
