It has been an interesting read on how they plan to implement such a system. It isn’t without pitfalls, but it does seem like the positives outweigh the downsides for now.
I am very curious about the various fringe cases they are surely going to need to deal with, such as being off-road.
And of course the inner anarchist in me wants to know how secure the road data is that’s being stored in the vehicle. Updates need to be pushed somehow, having it all stored on a server seems like it’d be a massive target for anyone who wants to cause a bit of mayhem.

Looks like some simple cardboard “signage” might be enough to cause mayhem since they also use a camera for detection of work speed zones.
How long until someone decides to cause a massive traffic jam with setting the Autobahn to 20kph?
