Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is getting some heat after video footage showed her in close contact with a male companion at a Beetlejuice musical from which she was booted after allegedly vaping in front of a pregnant woman. That companion is reportedly the owner of a pro-LGBT bar that has hosted a dra…

So recently Bobo said she was done with MAGA, and now the BF owns a pro-LGTBQ bar… Could it be that he is bringing some (and I mean a little bit) of sanity to trailer park barbie? Maybe this is a good thing and we get a less radical – but still idiotic Bobo

I think you’re being far too generous. She’s only done with MAGA because it’s getting less popular and her seat is in danger. She has to appeal to a broader group of people to get elected. She never believed the crap she said (look at her personal life before going for office), she was just using it. He didn’t make her see any light - she remains as self-serving as ever, and she never gave a crap about LGBTQ+ issues in the first place.

The only way that anything gets done in politics is compromise, so I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised that politicians are willing to compromise their values as well? Politicians that don’t aren’t very successful, so most people in these positions are flexible and moldable, like bags of clay…or shit.

The first part of your sentence is true, but I reject the second. Compromise is essential to getting things done in any group venture. I’ve worked in a large aerospace engineering organization for almost four decades, with a third of that as a manager, and we have to make compromises to reach consensus all the time, but we don’t compromise on our values. For instance, on a program with tight funding or schedule, we might be willing to go with a riskier solution (with program concurrence), but not if that program is human rated or has safety concerns. We also don’t venture into areas that are unethical.

And besides, this isn’t Bobert compromising her values (if she, in fact, has any). Do you really think she honestly cares about the LGBTQ+ stuff? She only cares about it to the extent that it’s a MAGA boogie man. It’s a tool to whip up the base. It’s amazing anyone takes her family values schtick seriously given that her husband’s exposed himself to her and some other girls at a bowling alley when they were underage and he wasn’t, she went on to marry him, had a kid as a teenager, and that kid knocked up a girl as a teenager too, so now she’s a grandmother. “Values.”

So this isn’t some change in values; the Bobert that is rude to the people around her in a theater, pulling her boobs out, and groping a club owner is the real Bobert - the MAGA family values persona is just an act.

politicians are willing to compromise their values as well

98% of American voters compromise their values every two years by voting for political parties who, as a rule, vote against their constituencies.

No. She just wanted to get a piece of ass in public and couldn’t find a repressed evangelical to do public stuff. She’s still batshit insane and honestly that dude needs to learn not to stick his dick in crazy.

This isn’t just funny; it’s a good point. Maybe the fact that he’s completely unlike her ex husband is part of the attraction.

My initial reaction is “nah”, but stranger things have happened. Just taking the edge off somewhat would be nice. Every little bit helps.
