That voice is… scarily close for the most part. Rick seems to have some rasp sometimes.

Any word on who the voice-actor(s) is?

Calm Rick sounds spot on, angry Rick not so much.

Morty sounds pretty good generally but there was one line that sounded off…

Still, given the circumstances, I don’t know what else they were supposed to do…

“Hey, it’s us, Rick and Morty! From a dimension where our voice actor wasn’t caught grooming children!”

Damn, the replacement voice actors are pretty good. I would’ve assumed that was Justin.

Yeah I thiiiink I can detect a difference when I’m listening for it, but zero chance I’d have picked up on the voices being different if I didn’t already know.

It’s mostly Rick when he’s shouting. Everything else is on-point. Even Roiland himself sounded slightly different last season so the transition isn’t all too rough.

I think it’s most noticeable when he’s trying to add inflection for an emotion. Like when Rick says “baby” or “shut up” in the trailer, that’s the most notable for me.

Biiig difference to me - kinda annoying. I’m sure it’ll grow on me eventually - but the show is loosing its pizazz, I hope they can turn it around.

I prefer the way Solar Opposites did it, a straight up completely different British accent, because of a voice altering sci-fi gun (as usual, they have gun for every situations), and it’s marvelous!

So weird to see an advertisement for show, followed by a time slot, and a network. It’s like a time capsule, a view into another dimension

I don’t notice any substantial difference between the original voice and this new one. Great job!

But I can’t watch the new episodes because Max is not available in Europe yet. Unless they release them on HBO Max.

It gets extremely obvious when they enter the “nearly cracking” voice range but overall it’s fairly close

Here in the states you can’t watch new episodes same-day on Max anyways. I plan on getting Hulu + Live TV to watch the episodes when they air.

You should be able to buy the season pass on iTunes once the first episode airs, and then watch the new episodes on the next day that way. That was the other solution I was considering.

Having watched 5 seasons a while ago and then this… yeah, these are pretty goddamn close. Certainly close enough to “pass” in my opinion.

I think looking back we’ll only notice when paying close attention. We just need to get used to it first, the voice for Rick is still slightly off.

Whatever happened after that one guy got caught assaulting women?

        https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Justin_Roiland

“In March 2023, the criminal charges against Roiland were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. He released a statement on social media saying he is “determined to move forward and focus both on my creative projects and restoring my good name”.[32][33][34] Following this announcement, his lawyer, T. Edward Welbourn, thanked the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for “conducting a thorough review of the facts” and dismissing the case, adding that he was “thankful [that] justice has prevailed”.[35]”

          This.

He was never officially “caught” assaulting women, merely accused of such. That said he’s basically been caught red-handed flirting (at the very least) with underage girls in DMs so his brand is still toxic enough for him to probably never get voice-acting roles again.

There is a clear difference between the new voice actors an Roiland’s voice. I’ll prefer they ditch the original voices and make new ones.
